The logon screen displays in red text debug information about why you cannot login.

"You are already logged in"
On the odd occasion the accounting server will not receive your disconnect packet when you logout of the wireless. This can be caused by connectivity problems between you and the accounting server.

There is a proccess that cleans up these stale sessions.
Simply wait 10 to 20 minutes before logging in again

"Radius server not responding"

Means that the site you are connecting from has lost internet connectivity and is unable to process your request to the authentication server. Please notify the site operator of the error so they can take steps to reinstate the internet connection.

Public Access Terminal
Most sites have a public computer for you to use.
It is very important to correctly logout of your session if you intend to use any remaining time later.
This can be achieved a number of ways.
- When you first logon, a popup window with a logout button will be presented to you.
- Type http://hotspot.priv into the address bar of Internet Explorer. Then click the logout button.
- Sessions will time out after several minutes of inactivity. However this is only the case if there is zero internet activity during this time. If you leave websites open that refresh or someone starts using the computer soon after you, then the session will not time out and you will lose any remaining time on your ticket.

I have my own laptop.
First connect to the wireless network specific to the site you are connecting from. This information will be provided by the owners of the venue by way of signage, inroom brochures or documentation at reception.

Once you have successfully connected, then open your preferred internet browser and attempt to connect to www.google.com.au.
You will be redirected to a login page to enter the username and password provided on the access ticket. At this stage you can allow popups in your browser settings so you will get the popup window that displays information on how much time you have left and to logout.

When you have finished with the internet, click the logout button on the popup window. If you don't have a popup window, then simply disconnect from the wireless or shut down your computer. The connection will time out in a few minutes.

I can't get to the login page
- Please turn off any proxy settings in your browser

- Type http://hotspot.priv into your browsers address bar to go directly to the login page

What ISP mail server should I use.
The firewall will automatically redirect outgoing SMTP Traffic to the site SMTP server. There is no need to change your outgoing mail server in your email client however this information is provided on the site login page if you require it.

The internet is slow
We only use high quality connections for our sites. You can be assured that the internet backbone is business grade with low contention ratio and in most cases a Service Level Agreement.

Sometimes overseas sites can be slow. Intercontinental bandwidth problems are beyond our control.

The website you are connecting to could be experiencing high load.

Per user bandwidth is managed to prevent a single user from hogging all the bandwidth. This alone ensures all users enjoy a good experience while using the service. Please note P2P filesharing programs are banned from our networks and are a breach of our Terms and conditons. Users caught running P2P programs whilst on our wireless network face having their account cancelled. We reserve the right to determined the outcome of each offender at our discression. In most cases we will act
only if it has a detrimental affect on other users.
